Analytics Engineer

At Exacaster we impact the lives of over 40 million consumers on a daily basis by working with clients in the Baltics, USA, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Overall, we operate one of the largest big-data environments in the Baltics, and we certainly have one of the most diverse sets of data and pursue some of the most challenging analytical projects.
Exacaster’s team is looking for a Analytics Engineer to join our Kolibris team.

About the role:
This role comes with hands-on ownership, direct communication with the client and the freedom to explore smarter ways to do things - often making you the first to dive into unfamiliar processes, ask the right questions, and figure things out when there’s no expert to ask.

Who should apply:

We don’t expect you to know everything on day one. What matters most is your attitude, adaptability, flexibility, and analytical thinking - those are the qualities that set people up for success in this role.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Backend & Data Pipeline Development: debug and enhance Python-based backend systems (Flask services and data pipelines).
  • Maintain and improve ETL workflows using Python, DBT, and Alembic.
  • Investigate anomalies and perform in-depth root cause analysis
  • Interface with RESTful and third-party APIs to ingest data into reporting systems.
  • Contribute to process monitoring, deployment activities and release cycles.
  • Ensure system reliability and performance through proactive support.
  • Communicate directly with the client, document new and existing processes.
  • Manage and track work through Jira and other internal tools.

We are looking for a person who has:

  • Experience in Python (Flask), RESTful APIs, DBT, Alembic, SQL (DDL/DML)
  • AWS (S3, RDS, Redshift) - a basic understanding is enough.
  • General reporting/data transformation logic skills.
  • Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, release cycles, Crontab/scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical mindset – you enjoy diving into problems and tracing data issues.
  • Attention to detail and ability to assess the impact of changes on the process or system level.
  • Comfortable reading and debugging code you didn’t write.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills, programming languages, and technologies as the project evolves.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-driven and reliable – able to manage your own workload while knowing when to ask for help.

Nice to have things:

  • Experience supporting Power BI by shaping backend data, managing refreshes, and integrating external sources into reports.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Zabbix or internal alerting systems.
  • Exposure to production support workflows and handling live system incidents.
  • Basic experience with React, scripting, or general frontend development.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Previous experience in consulting or client-facing data roles.

We promise:

  • Monthly salary for this position from 2919 EUR – 4159 EUR gross for a full time role.
  • Participation in the company’s stock options program.
  • Flexible Benefits & Personal learning budget.
  • 10 Growth Days per year - dedicated time for learning and development.
  • Ownership and dynamics in your role.
  • Hybrid work environment with preferably at least 1 day per week in the office.
  • All the support you need from our experienced team to become an even better professional.
  • And the most important thing – you will be part of a great international team!
