Junior Big Data Engineer


Exacaster’s team is looking for a Junior Big Data Engineer to work on support of all Exacaster’s clients incidents.
We impact the lives of over 40 million consumers on a daily basis by working with clients in the Baltics, USA, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Overall, we operate one of the largest big-data environments in the Baltics, and we certainly have one of the most diverse sets of data and pursue some of the most challenging analytical projects.

About the team:

You would join a Manage Services team that provides technical support to all our existing clients. Team works with existing solution daily, according to agreed service plan, such as: maintaining status quo, small requests (and minor changes), planned/agreed changes and platform updates.

Your main challenge will be:

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Ensuring data processes runs according to schedule.
  • Performing root cause analysis of ETL failures, fixing at root cause level.
  • Communicating with client regarding changes in source data or connectivity issues.
  • Optimizing ETL schedule according to system load or other requirements.
  • Creating new ETL’s.

We are looking for a person who has:

  • Attention to details.
  • Principal RDBMS knowledge.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • Basic understanding how data pipelines works (what ETL means).
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Scala, Java).
  • PL/SQL.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Hadoop ecosystem/tools knowledge.
  • Spark knowledge.
  • AWS services.
